Research shows that children's learning flourishes in environments where adults are warm and caring, and interact with children in nondirective ways. When adults act as partners, children turn to them for interaction. By contrast, adults who act as managers socialize children to turn to them for management. Moreover, adults who interact as partners rather than managers also enhance young children's ability to communicate effectively with others.

For that reason, Kidzone's adults always express pleasure in children's initiative and autonomy, share the children's excitement about their discoveries, join as partners without dominating children's play, and know when to stand by versus when and how to gently step in to facilitate children's  problem solving and extend their learning. To support young children's emerging sense of self, adults need to be knowledgeable and reflective about all these aspects of adult-child interaction.
